For this week’s news, most of it is related to first-person shooters or those that are played from that perspective. Along with them, an expensive NES game is set to return next year!
Halo 1 is being remade for modern systems as Halo: Campaign Evolved. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is receiving a significant next-gen update. Condemned: Criminal Origins has been delisted on Steam and the Xbox Store. Finally, Little Samson, the legendarily expensive NES game is coming back next year on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch!
Halo: Campaign Evolved Announced

Our first news report is that Halo: Campaign Evolved has been announced. According to its Steam page, it is a faithful yet expanded remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign with high definition visuals, updated cinematics and refined controls, along with three brand new prequel missions featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson.
Some of the other cool additions include four-player online Co-op with full crossplay and cross progression support. Some other visual and auditorial updates involve an overhaul of the cinematics, animations, and a remastered soundtrack. Finally, the game will include nine additional iconic weapons from across the series, such as the Energy Sword, Battle Rifle, Needle Rifle, and more.
It is scheduled to release on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Please see below for links to their respective store pages.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil Receives Next Gen Update

Continuing with another well-known first-person shooter, Turok 2, Seeds of Evil has received a next gen update for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam. Some of the improvements include higher refresh rates and up to 4K resolution for platforms that support them, smoother shadows, optimized light scattering, and improved ambient occlusion. Along with those visual upgrades, other less prominent, (but still valuable) improvements include subtitles added for all cinematics and an improved localization.
One other thing that is appreciated is that the development team is aware of issues with cross play multiplayer for the game, especially related for players between different generations of hardware, such as PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. As is said in their patch notes, “Please stay tuned for an update and fix for this in a future announcement.
Condemned: Criminal Origins Delisted

In other first person game news, Condemned: Criminal Origins was recently delisted from Steam and the Xbox Store. It was originally released in the mid-2000’s.
As of this writing, it is still easily obtainable via eBay and other similar storefronts for the Xbox 360. According to Price Charting, the loose price for the console version is just under $11, and the CIB price around $15 if you’d like to buy a copy for your collection.

Little Samson Returning in 2026

Last, but certainly not least, we have a new trailer for Little Samson that was released by GAMEBit NOW. As many of my readers will know, Little Samson is an extremely expensive NES Action Platformer. The trailer doesn’t share a lot, with it mainly showcasing the main characters and letting us know that the game will return in 2026. It will release on Steam. PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
No details on release dates or prices are available, as of yet. However, this is still good news with the loose price of an authentic copy of the game going for upwards of $2000+!
