Review Rating Scale

Shared below is a brief overview of my rating scale for reviews. If you have any questions about these, please contact me through the form on my About Page.

Remember, we are all free to have different opinions on the games we play and the media we consume. I expect that most of reviews will be rated as positive or mixed. Please don’t be upset if one of your favorite games is viewed differently by me than you expect. I may use very positive a little less than other sites, and negative a little more often than other reviewers.

Thank you for your understanding!

Review Rating Scale

I consider these games to be excellent, superior, or impressive. I would be glad to have one of these titles in my library. If I used a scale of 1-10, these would be a 10, 9, or 8. All of these releases share the distinction of me wanting to play them further after completion. I’d also want to spend more time with them even after doing a review for them.

These are games that I consider great or good. They just fall short in a few ways, in my opinion. If I used a scale of 1-10, these games would be a 7 or 6. Games rated as positive are at least worth buying at the regular sale price. This is the rating I default to when I begin playing a title.

These games are OK, average, or subpar, in my opinion. I do not view these titles as bad. If I used a scale of 1-10, these games would be a 5 or 4. If I consider a game to be mixed, it does not mean that I dislike it. I had fun with it in at least a few ways, but I can’t recommend it to others.

These are games that I consider poor, bad, or awful. If I used a scale of 1-10, these titles would be a 3, 2, or 1. Although I may have had a little fun with some of them, they were probably a chore to play. Likewise, a primary reason I continued to play them was so I could produce content from them. If I didn’t have this blog, I would have likely stopped playing them earlier.
