This is a pretty big week for retro games! A new trailer was shown for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection that reveals three more games, The remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 has been released on multiple systems as METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, and Blaze Entertainment has announced two more game collections for the year: Activision Collection 1 and The Llamasoft Collection!
I’ve also prepared a YouTube video showcasing some of this news as well.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Gamescom 2025 Trailer

The first big news of the day is that a new trailer for the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection has revealed three additional games
They are,
- Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
- Mortal Kombat: Special Forces
- Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 WaveNet
While the first two titles listed above are not very popular, their inclusion is important for game preservation. The same can be said with it having multiple versions of Mortal Kombat 1-3, along with the worse portable releases.
The big deal about the WaveNet version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is that it was only available to play in a couple of select markets for a short period of time. Also, it is the only arcade version of the game where Noob Saibot is a playable character. I believe WaveNet version has some balance tweaks that the other versions don’t have as well. A little more info on it can be found on Wikipedia.
I previously reported on this kollection here. The Gamescom 2025 trailer for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is here, along with the Steam sales page.
METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER Released

A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was released last week on multiple platforms with all-new graphics and 3D audio. The new title is known as METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER.
For those who want to pick it up, the Steam version is available here, and also on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
For Steam users, the best deal is about 25% off, or $52.37. It is available at gamebillet. Meanwhile, Fanatical has it for 1 cent more. If you’re looking at this some time in the future, you can find discounts at gg.deals.
Beyond the previously mentioned graphic and sound updates to the game, it also includes additional bonus content and modes, some of which are unlocked after beating the game.
They are,
- Snake vs. Monkey, where you play as Snake, and round up all the escaped apes running around in each stage!
- Fox Hunt is an all-new online multiplayer mode that is coming sometime in Fall 2025.
- Secret Theater, in which you use 8mm film canisters to unlock humorous versions of certain scenes.
- Guy Savage Δ is a reimagined version of the original Guy Savage mode. It was developed by PlatinumGames.
Again, if you need the links, the launch trailer for METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is here, along with the Steam sales page. The game is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Evercade Activision Collection 1 Announced

The first cartridge announcement for today is Activision Collection 1 for Evercade. Like the next one I’ll mention, it is scheduled for release in November of this year. It includes 15 old-school Activision games, with the obvious “killer apps” being Pitfall! and River Raid. To me, I’m interested in picking this up just for those two games.
The full list of titles include,
- Beamrider
- Crackpots
- Demon Attack
- Enduro
- Fishing Derby
- Freeway
- Grand Prix
- Megamania
- Pitfall!
- Private Eye
- River Raid
- Sky Jinks
- Space Shuttle: A Journey Into Space
- Starmaster
- Tennis
Before I got to the next announcement, I’ll also say that I am glad that Beamrider is in this collection. I’ve heard good things about it and want to try it out! Also, I hope the instructions for the Space Shuttle game are thorough. I expect the game may be more complicated than some others.
The trailer for Activision Collection 1 can be found here, and here is the Evercade page for it.
Evercade Llamasoft Collection Announced

The possibly last new Evercade cart for 2025 is The Llamasoft Collection. This includes a large assortment of classic computer games developed by Jeff Minter. If you view alternate versions of each game as separate, the cart ends up having 27 games, which is the most of any cartridge released on Evercade!
The games are,
- Abductor
- Ancipital
- Andes Attack
- Attack of the Mutant Camels
- Batalyx
- City Bomb
- Deflex V
- Gridrunner (Versions A & B)
- Hell Gate (Versions A & B)
- Hover Bovver
- Llamatron: 2112
- Laser Zone (Versions A & B)
- Matrix: Gridrunner 2 (Versions A & B)
- Metagalactic Llamas: Battle at the Edge of Time (Versions A & B)
- Ratman!
- Revenge of the Mutant Camels (Versions A & B)
- Revenge of the Mutant Camels II
- Sheep in Space
- Super Gridrunner
- Superdeflex
- Voidrunner
To be clear, I’ve never played any of these games, and the only ones I might have heard about before are the mutant camel titles. However, I can’t say for sure. Since I haven’t played these, I can’t say a lot about them, but I am glad they are here. I liked what was shown on the trailer, yet I wished it was longer and showed more of the games.
The trailer the Llamasoft Collection can be found here, and the Evercade page for it is also available.
For those curious, I also discussed Rare Collection 1 in this blog post last week. It, along with these two collections, are supposed to come out in the same month.
