For today’s Friday’s Free Games, we have multiple RPGs, FPSs, and other classic indie titles available for free, including LIMBO and Tiny Tina’s Wonderland! I personally really like the look of the RPGs and even the bit gory titles like Guncaster and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance.
Will you be playing any of the games below? Let us know in the comments below! Thank you!
Note: All the images shown below are from their respective Steam sales pages.

When I first saw this game’s title, I didn’t think much of it. But then I watched the trailer! It has super charming music and a pleasant art style. Additionally, the reviews say that it has a really funny dialogue, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. At 99% of over 230 reviews being positive, people really like it! By the way, I want you to be advised that this game has some yaoi aspects in it. I didn’t know that when I first prepared this post (it wasn’t mentioned on the Steam page).
The Chroma: from the wasteland (FPS)

This western-themed FPS seems to be quite fun with a fast pace! One other distinction is that you can take your enemies’ weapons after you defeat them using some tool that is shown in the trailer. That’s a cool idea!
CodeStrike – Python Powered Action (Shooter & Coding)

How a 3D action-adventure shooter could have anything to do with writing code in python, I have no idea! However, I do like to support ideas where people learn skills through video games. Moreover, I kind of like the flat shaded polygon look of some of the scenes in the game’s trailer. I hope it’s a good title! It reminds me of PY-ONNERS from a previous Friday’s Free Games.
Discover Old D’Hanis (Walking Simulator)

History of an old town is important, and something that should not be forgotten. Discover Old D’Hanis reminds us of this as we walk around broken down structures and locations, and then click on items nearby to see what they may have looked like. There seems to be notes to read about the buildings as well. It will probably be fascinating for fans of architecture and history!

While not exactly looking like a Game Boy title, this is a black and white platformer where you play as a living flame. During the trailer, I felt like the music seemed a bit spooky, even though it didn’t show any scary stuff, in my opinion. One neat idea is that since you are a candle, your amount of light remaining drops as your flame burns down. When world design and gameplay dynamics line up together, that’s always a good touch!

This is a very cool looking boomer shooter with a distinctive art style! In it, you have to manage your mana resources and different guns effectively to recover the tower that has been taken from you. I’m not sure why, but I really like the explosions in this game! Their style is really cool. And of course, it’s bloody as one would expect.

Wow, this is an impressive and neat looking RPG game! It has a rhythm-based battle system, and the trailer has a ton of charm! It features some really expressive animations for the characters while walking around and during battle. A lot of care was put into this game, obviously. Way to go!

Since horror-themed titles are so common on Friday’s Free Games, it’s difficult to find some that really stand out. In this case, it is a realistic first-person horror experience in a crypt dungeon. The lighting effects are really well done and it seems like people are enjoying it a lot. The game takes about 30 minutes to complete, with multiple endings available. As of this writing, 95% of the game’s 24 reviews are positive!

This is one of the most legendary and important indie puzzle platformers around. It’s a dark, atmospheric title with an incredible art design and a creepy aesthetic. It’s currently available for free from the Epic Game Store.
Miscrits: World of Creatures (RPG Creature Collectathon)

For fans of classic Facebook games and Pokémon, Miscrits is the number one choice for the week! It looks pretty much like a Pokémon game with turn-based battles, arenas, combat with your different characters, and evolving monsters. People are going crazy about it on Steam. It has over 300 reviews at this point with 91% of them being positive.
MoonLight (3D Puzzle Platformer)

Were you afraid of the dark whenever you were a child? In this game you get to take on that fear again as you go through a dream world solving puzzles and banishing shadows with your flashlight. It looks pretty neat; I like the art style!

Do you just want to relax after work? Do you like gardening? If your answer to those questions are yes, then you may want to play this game. In it, you simply help decorate your garden at your house. There’s no time limit, and no enemies. You just have a relaxing experience.
Sector Unknown – Prologue (CRPG)

If you want to try out a game that is inspired by classic CRPGs like Fallout, and also support a solo developer, then this one is worth considering! It has turn-based battles, skill trees that actually matter, and some really interesting dialogue choices. Plus, the developer is pumping out really big updates with lots of fixes in them so that is excellent to see. I like to support that kind of effort. Thank you!
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (Action-adventure Shooter)

While being a popular first-person shooter with a very cool art style and concepts related to D&D and other fantasy worlds, it’s also currently being review bombed on Steam right now. The reason being that the EULA for the title has been allegedly updated to be far more invasive, among other things. I’m not going to get in the middle of it, and will just say that the game is currently free at the Epic Games Store.
Train Driver 2 (Multiplayer Train Sim)

Train Driver 2 is another one of my rare multiplayer-focused games here on Friday’s Free Games. It is a Polish-based train conductor simulation. One neat thing about it is that not only can you drive the train, but you can also be the dispatcher if so desired! People did report that the single player scenarios did not always work, so hopefully that will be fixed soon.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance (Typing Action)

This is a bloody first-person shooter that is played by using the keyboard to type out the correct phrases as indicated on the screen. The trailer is quite gory, but it also has a real funny sense of humor that I enjoyed. It is currently rated as very positive on Steam with over 1,100 reviews thus far!
