Tuesday’s Deals – Game Bundles for T1D Breakthrough, Team17, Rising Hope, and a Couple PS4 Discounts

For Tuesday’s Deals, there is one game bundle that really stands out. The T1D Breakthrough: Games with Links to Diabetes Community Bundle. Of course, there’s others that are available, but that one is clearly the best for most people. Additional ones worth considering are the Team17: Chains of Command Bundle and the Rising Hope Bundle, both discussed below. Finally, there are a couple of noteworthy games on the PlayStation Store that are on sale that I highlight at the bottom.

Beyond those, there are a few active bundles that I don’t discuss in this post. They are all from Fanatical. They are:

I may be able to discuss these in more detail in the future, but no guarantees. Looking at them at a glance, I do need to mention two things. They are,

  • Narita Boy is also in the Team17 Bundle found below.
  • Mail Time is currently available at Prime Gaming for Amazon Prime Members.

So, let’s go on to the deals! And by the way, all pictures below are from the games’ Steam sales pages.

T1D Breakthrough: Games with Links to Diabetes Community (Humble Bundle)

Probably one of the best bundles going on right now is the T1D Breakthrough Bundle from Humble Bundle. It features 9 games for a total price of $10, with many heavy hitters including The Walking Dead, Batman – The Telltale Series, and Sam & Max titles.

The full list of games include:

Just looking at the quality of the games, many of these are top tier. So much so that 7 out of 9 of the games featured are rated as 81% positive or higher on Steam! They are bolded above. For more details, check out the IsThereAnyDeal page. In regard to value, the historical low for all of them is $24.66, so a $10 starting price is great!

The bundle is available here.

Team17: Chains of Command Bundle (Humble Bundle)

For fans of the British publisher and developer, Team17, there is a current Humble Bundle that compiles 8 of their relatively recent titles from a variety of genres. The bundle comes in three tiers, with the lowest being for $5, and the highest for $20.

The complete bundle includes,

Of the titles listed above, the most expensive games are Classified: France ’44 and Hell Let Loose, both of which are part of the highest tier in the bundle. Unfortunately, the quality of the games seem to be all over the place. Of the 8 games, only half of them are rated as 81% positive or better. These are bolded in the list above.

Although the value is there for the whole bundle, I can’t really recommend any of the tiers unless you’ve been looking to get a few in particular. The IsThereAnyDeal page does show the historical value of all the games as $50.40, compared to $20, which is what we find at the bundle’s main page. I’d say just use your judgment on what to buy, or not.

Rising Hope Bundle (Indie Gala)

Indie Gala recently released another of their niche bundles. This one is the Rising Hope Bundle with a price of $3.99 for 6 Steam titles.

The games included are,

Like most Indie Gala bundles, the games featured here seem to be chosen at random. Nor are they hugely popular; only Balrum has more than 100 reviews on Steam. Apparently it’s fashioned after the style of old-school CRPGs with a turn-based battle system while combining survival and crafting elements to the gameplay design. As far as graphics, it looks like a mid-90’s computer game. I really liked the Steam trailer for it.

Yet, the real star is Arrival of Beasts. Like Balrum, the trailer for it is of good quality and showcases its gameplay features well. This one is a tower defense game mixed with RTS aspects. What stands it above the rest is just how enthusiastic the reviewers are for the game! In fact, the game has multiple reviews where the player has 50+ hours of playtime. One ended up playing the game for over 200 hours, and another has played it for over 350 hours.

Turning to the bundle’s IsThereAnyDeal page, I must admit that most of these games are not universally praised. While Arrival of Beasts is over 95% positive, the only other title that is at least 90% positive is Three Goblin Wobblin’. Even so, all the games in the bundle are rated positively. Moreover, with the historical value of the bundle being $30.79, paying just $3.99 for the six games is a great deal!

A Couple of Noteworthy Discounts on the PlayStation Store

Andro Dunos II, the popular Shmup sequel is currently on a heavy discount at the PlayStation Store. Its normal price is $17.99, but right now it is available for $1.79, which is 90% off the regular retail price.

Likewise, Towaga: Among Shadows also has a 90% discount right now for PS4. It is a game I reviewed last week, and is no longer available on Steam. It is on sale for $1.49, at a 90% discount.
