Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Comes To Steam This Week

Capcom’s latest fighting anthology, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, comes to Steam on Thursday, May 15! It was previously announced about 8 months ago in an announcement trailer, and now it’s almost here! It will also be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
If you want to buy it on Steam before launch at an 18% discount, it is available at Fanatical for $32.79. The game’s regular retail price will be $39.99. Even at normal price, this is a quality value. Some of the games in this collection, on their own, go for well over $40 on the used market for their original ports. A couple of examples include Power Stone 2 and Project Justice, both previously on the SEGA Dreamcast. According to Fanatical’s sales page, each game has local and online co-op play, rollback netcode, beginner-friendly features, and over 700 pieces of artwork and 300 music tracks across the 8 included games.
They are,
- Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
- Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER
- Power Stone
- Power Stone 2
- Project Justice
- Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein
With Capcom’s release of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics last year, the company is doing a stellar job of bringing back classic IP’s to modern systems in an affordable manner. I hope the trend continues!
Wolf Hawkfield Teaser Trailer

Yesterday, Sega dropped a teaser trailer for Wolf Hawkfield! To coincide with it, they also shared their latest VF Direct for Spring, 2025. It is available in multiple languages and is about 12 minutes in length. Here’s a link to the English version. I don’t have much else to say about it, other to add that I’m really glad that Virtua Fighter has been making its own resurgence in the last year with the release of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. and the announcement of the new Virtua Fighter Project!
Retro-Style JRPG, Old Hero, Announced

The developer of an upcoming retro-inspired JRPG, Pink Pepper Games, has started showing off their first game, Old Hero! According to its Steam page, it follows in the footsteps of classic 8 and 16-bit RPGs. However, one thing that makes it stand out is its witty, quirky dialog. Characters make fun each other, as shown in this short scene. They also have expressive animations like in Final Fantasy VI. If you want to know more, feel free to check out the trailer on the Steam page. I think it shows promise and looks fun! The art style seems like a mix of 8 and 16-bit, which is interesting to me.
The Flayed Man Is Going to a Paid Game Model on May 17th

The Flayed Man is currently a free game that I shared with you in the middle of April, but will be transitioning to a paid game model this Saturday, on May 17, 2025. Over the last month it has garnered over 130 reviews, and is now ranked as Very Positive on Steam! The developer, Snoring Dog Games, hasn’t stated what the specific price will be for the title once the change is made, but I wish them success in their efforts. They have an appreciative and positive audience for their work, and I hope they can make another game after this one. If you still want to get the game for free, do so before it is too late!
