Indie Gala recently made a popular retro-style platformer available on their website. It is Rex: Another Island which just so happens to the feature a cute little dinosaur!
The game is inspired by classic 8-bit platformers, while also including a collectathon aspect that encourages players to seek out all the coins and gems in each level. This is important because there are hidden exits for obtaining all the items in each area.
One intriguing aspect to it is that it is a large open world with four or five biomes within it.
Beyond the charming graphics and sound, younger players may appreciate that the game has various tents in each section that allows one to store coins upon retrieval so they aren’t lost if one loses a life. However, for older gamers and those wanting to go for a speedrun, they may choose to bypass as many tents as possible so they aren’t slowed down.
